Welcome to Bute Golf Club
A SPECIAL golfing experience awaits close to the sands of Stravannan Bay on the west coast of the beautiful Isle of Bute.
Here you will find a hidden gem … Bute Golf Club’s unique nine-hole Kingarth course which provides an opportunity to sample the very origins of the game. Golf has been played here for more than 120 years, making it the oldest course on the island.
Players can enjoy the splendour of seaside golf in a spectacular setting with the dramatic backdrop of The Sleeping Warrior on the mountains of Arran. There are panoramic views across the Kilbrannan Sound to Kintyre in the west and to the Ayrshire coast in the east from this short, but tricky, course.
A £12 green fee entitles golfers to play all day and green fees should be deposited in the honesty box at the clubhouse. There’s no need to book tee times … visitors are always welcome with the exception of Saturday mornings up until 11.30am because of club competitions. Parties of more than eight players should, however, contact the hon. secretary:
Frazer Robinson, 32 Marine Place, Ardbeg, Rothesay, Isle of Bute Telephone 01700 503091
Unfortunately we cannot provide catering facilities at our modest clubhouse but members have an arrangement with St Blane’s Hotel at nearby Kilchattan Bay where owners David and Janice Haig are happy to meet the demands of thirsty, hungry, golfers.

August 8, 2010
on Saturday 7th August I lost a Gents wristwatch somewhere on the first two holes of the Kingarth course. (A Dreyfuss, black strap, white analogue face).
If this is found please contact me by email (karen15@blueyonder.co.uk or mobile 07913 066510)
