FORMER
title-holder John Kernaghan stretched his lead in the current Winter
League stableford competition at Kingarth last Saturday with an excellent
42 points' score in difficult weather conditions. The 11-handicapper
boosted his best eight-rounds' tally to 314 points, 11 ahead of nearest
challengers Ian McDougall (15) and David Bryden (7) both on 303. Others
"on the board" are Bobby Speirs 298, John Stewart 280, James McAlister
and Frazer Robinson both 275, and Bobby Gordon 273. Leonard Ferguson
has a seven-round tally of 246.
The
league, sponsored by Stephen Thomas Financial Services, continues tomorrow
with the usual clubhouse ballot at 8.30am.
