FORMER champion
Gordon Pettigrew is the first winner of the McDougall Trophy following
a two-over-par round of 70 in last Saturday's stableford competition.
The seven-handicapper's 41 points' total was just one clear of runner-up
John Bunyan (22) with David Bryden (9) and John Kernaghan (13) joint
third on 39 points. The silverware was donated for annual competition
by club captain Ian McDougall.
Kingarth
golfers are back in "major" action tomorrow in the HSBC-sponsored May
medal. The banking organisation is generously providing a gift for
every competitor in addition to vouchers for the leading three net scores.
The winner,
who will also receive tickets for the HSBC World Match-Play Championship
to be held at Wentworth later this year, has the opportunity to compete
in the regional and national stages of their amateur match-play title
event. The usual ballot takes place at the clubhouse at 8.30am.
