A BIRDIE
three at the seventeenth put John Kernaghan back on the winner's podium
last Saturday as it helped him to a one-stroke victory in the May Medal
at Kingarth. The 13-handicapper scored net 63 to edge John Bunyan (21)
into runner-up spot after the club captain finished on 64 with Leonard
Ferguson (18) three shots further adrift on 67. The first class was
led by David Bryden (9) with 68, two clear of Bobby Speirs (12) and
Robert McKirdy (7) who was making a welcome return to competitive golf
after an absence of four years.
There's a
trophy at stake tomorrow (Saturday) when the Kingarth golfers will compete
in the annual bogey competition for the McAlister Tasnkard with the
usual ballot at the clubhouse at 8.30am.
