DESPITE difficult playing conditions in the Winter League at Kingarth on Saturday John Stewart produced the form which brought him success last season. Battling against a fierce north-east wind the 26-handicapper scored a creditable 36 points in the stableford competition. He was two clear of nearest challenger Gordon Little (16) on 34 with hon secretary Fraser Robinson (19) third on 33.

The next round of the league, with eight best scores counting, continues tomorrow with the usual ballot at the clubhouse at 8.30am.
