NORMAL service
was resumed at Kingarth last Saturday as Winter League competitors took
advantage of a break in the weather after three weeks of wind, rain
and high tides which covered two of the coastline greens.
And it was
also back to normal for two-handicapper Donald Standaloft as he made
the most of the benign conditions to return a winning gross 66 for 40
stableford points. Birdies at the fifth, eighth, twelfth, fourteenth
and seventeenth, where he put his drive to within four feet of the pin
at the 282 yards par four but missed the eagle putt, set Standaloft
up for a one-point victory.
Club captain
Ian McDougall (15) and John Stewart (22) shared runner-up spot on 39
points with David Bryden (7) next on 35.
Weather permitting,
the league competition -- sponsored by Stephen Thomas Financial Services
-- continues tomorrow (Saturday) with the usual clubhouse ballot at
8.30am. ------------
