hotelier Graham Leonard checked in for his first major competition of
the season at Kingarth last Saturday and strolled off with the top award.
The 24-handicapper
enjoyed a three-shot victory in the 18-hole James Lamont Quaich event
with net 59. David Bryden (9) was runner-up on net 62 thanks to a better
inward half after Alex McIntosh (16) finished with the same score. Other
leading scorers were Gordon Pettigrew (7) 63, John Bunyan (21) and Leonard
Ferguson (17) both 64.
Ian McDougall
hosts Captain's Day tomorrow (Saturday) with an 8.30am ballot at the
clubhouse.
