A ROLLERCOASTER inward half of 35 which included three birdies, two bogeys and a double bogey earned David Bryden first place in last Saturday's Committee Prize Day at Kingarth. The nine-handicapper finished on net 62 to be two shots clear of runner-up A. Boyle (24) on 64. Other leading scorers were Jim McKirdy (11) 65, Graham Connor (11) 66, Gordon Pettigrew (7) 67. The competition scratch score was 64.

A BIG turnout is expected for tomorrow's 18-hole medal round for the St Blane's Trophy. As always the event is being generously sponsored by St Blane's Hotel, Kilchattan Bay where members gather after each Saturday competition. The usual ballot takes place at the clubhouse at 8.30am.

WINNERS of trophies during the 2005 season should return the silverware to secretary Frazer Robinson at 32 Marine Place, Ardbeg (telephone 01700 502158) as soon as possible. Trophies can also be left at St Blane's Hotel for collection.
