JOHN STEWART
is just 18 holes away from his first trophy success at Kingarth as he
goes into tomorrow's final round of the Winter League.
The 24-handicapper
is two points ahead of John Kernaghan (11) in the stableford tournament
with best eight scores counting. Recent form indicates that he will
be hard to beat but former winner Kernaghan could push him all the way.
These two are well clear of the chasing pack who are now fighting for
consolation prizes.
There were
no significant changes in the table after last Saturday's round with
John Girvan (20) and David Bryden (9) leading the way on 37 points.
Stewart, while unable to improve on his total, scored a creditable 35
for third place shared with Ian McDougall (17).
