ROTHESAY
golfers charged to title success in Bute Seniors League last week as
they lifted the McMillan Quaich for a second time thanks to a vital
away point in their final match at Kingarth. The undefeated Canada Hill
players, led by team captain Ben Ward, have been in impressive form
this season with three victories and a drawn match to their credit.
This leaves Bute and Port Bannatyne battling it out to avoid bottom
place. The highlight for a rejuvenated Rothesay team, which finished
below both island rivals last season, was a creditable away victory
at the Port.
