TIME is
running out for challengers to pacesetter John Kernaghan in the Winter
League at Kingarth. The 10-handicapper, who finished in second place
on Saturday, maintains a nine-point lead at the top of the table with
just three rounds remaining. However it was playing partner Bobby Speirs
(12) who had his moment of glory in grim weather conditions at the weekend
when he led the field with 38 points. Kernaghan was next on 35 with
John Stewart (22) third with 32. Leading placings in the stableford
competition with eight scores counting: J. Kernaghan 315, I. McDougall
