A BUSY season lies ahead for Bute Golf Club. The first of our two open events will be the SafeSol Kingarth Open, sponsored by Rothesay businessman Harry Lymburn, which takes place on Sunday, June 23.
The popular 18-hole stroke-play competition has an entry fee of £9. The maximum handicap is 18 and players can win only one major prize. The Middleton Cup is awarded to the player with the best net score while vouchers go to the leading competitors in two classes. There are also various special awards.
The Senior Open is being held on Wednesday, July 10. The event is sponsored by the club’s Hon. Captain, Jimmy Burnside, and is open to golfers aged 50 years and over.
There is a maximum handicap of 24 and The Burnside Bowl is awarded to the player with the lowest net score. Entry is £8.
Further details for both competitions from Hon. Secretary Frazer Robinson
