1st HoleA SPECIAL golfing experience awaits close to the sands of Stravannan Bay on the west coast of the beautiful Isle of Bute.

Here you will find a hidden gem … Bute Golf Club’s unique nine-hole Kingarth course which provides an opportunity to sample the very origins of the game. Golf has been played here for more than 129 years, making it the oldest course on the island.

Players can enjoy the splendour of seaside golf in a spectacular setting with the dramatic backdrop of The Sleeping Warrior on the mountains of Arran. There are panoramic views across the Kilbrannan Sound to Kintyre in the west and to the Ayrshire coast in the east from this short, but tricky, course.

Visitors are always welcome with the exception of Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays between 14:00 and 15:00 inc.  and,Saturday mornings up until 11.30am because of club competitions, see Fixture List for details. Also, please see the Visitors page for instructions during COVID restrictions.
